Philip
Brownbill is a composer and lyricist based in Bath. His interest
in photography began at a young age. Whether it was chasing animals or
steam trains, he soon learned that life with a camera in hand was
always more than just capturing a moment in time.
Over the years taking pictures has developed into a passion that takes him outside and away from the studio. “Composition of a photograph is not that different to composing a piece of music. All the elements have to complement each other to create something memorable.”
He uses photography as a way of producing pieces of art. Inspiration comes from all around him and sometimes from nowhere at all.
When he’s not sitting at his keyboard he is off trying to figure out the most unusual way to take a picture, recreating the image he has floating around in his head to the one that appears on the camera.
The collection featured here, “Sugarland”, was inspired whilst on a search for colour in unusual places. In many of the images you will see that Phil has tried to make the subjects appear different to their normal associations.
